Explore Aerial Retreat is geared towards those who want to take a dive into more intermediate-advanced level aerial technique, skills, and theory.
It's an intentional space to tap into our unique style of movement and creativity in a non judgemental environment, to strengthen our bond with our apparatus, and to deepen our overall aerial practice from the inside out.
It's a chance to connect with aerialists from around the world, all while enjoying the natural beauty and adventurous lifestyle Costa Rica and our friends at Airborne Arts have to offer!

Offerings
Last winter we created what we thought would be the ultimate retreat, combining both technique training and act creation and of course a full schedule of other great activities. While we all had a great time, we realized that to truly dig in into either, we would need to make these two separate grand adventures. This winter season we are headed down south again to the majestic retreat center of Airborne Arts with an additional offering to bring! We've added an act creation / performance intensive that can be attended as is, or in addition to our technique retreat the week before. Don't worry, we made sure to put some breather days between the two retreats for all of us to rest on the beach and check out the local area in between! We are offering a discount of __ for those interested in participating in both weeks!
February 12-17:
Act Creation/Performance Intensive Retreat
Are you an aerialist who's been working on an apparatus of interest consistently for atleast one year, with an inkling to create a new act, reinvent an oldie but goodie, or work on a secondary apparatus with the support and mentoring of two dynamic coaches all week long?
Sarah and Shaina are excited to launch this offering to hold space for you to fully and profoundly drop into your artistry in a beautiful place, nourished by daily, morning yoga, and healthy yet delicious food all week long. We have also carved out intentional time during the week to be in our bodies outside of our aerial practice and explore a breathtaking waterfall nearby while connecting with our peers in the abundant nature of Dominical.
Through private one on one lessons, self-led open gyms, prompts, mood boards and feedback circles, you will gain access to your creative power to leave this week with milestones of "aha" moments and gems of inspiration in your pocket to continue to live in your creative fire and integrate it back into your local creative process.

What are the accomodations like?
Airborne Arts offers a beautiful opportunity to visit one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful areas. Immerse yourself in nature by sleeping in a gorgeous natural wood aerial studio guest dorm, which overlooks breathtaking views of waterfalls and valley. Awaken to the sound of birds singing and howler monkeys chit chatting, all while maintaining comfort and privacy . Includes a bathroom with shower.
You'll also find our community kitchen area where your 3 beautifully prepared mostly organic meals/day take place, and a swimming pool and sundeck for relaxing during your free time!
Guests will be served scrumptious mostly vegetarian meals. We put an emphasis on fresh produce. Fish and meat may be served on occasion. Please know that non-allergic products are not easily available in Costa Rica. We are not set up to deal with life threatening food allergies so, if you have one, be prepared to monitor and manage this.
WHAT NOT TO BRING
● No cigarette smoking or use of recreational drugs is allowed at the retreat center
● Please do not bring personal care items containing synthetic, harsh chemicals.
● Please do not bring radios or amplified/electronic music players.
● We discourage bringing snacks or food because we're in the jungle and sometimes, the way people manage their food has attracted a lot of animals and insects and then everyone is less comfortable. I think you’ll find that we supply way more food than people can eat, including snacks.

Getting There
You will be responsible for your own flight to San Jose, Costa Rica. There will be a group shuttle provided for the first reatreat (included in your tuition) from Hotel Aeropuerto in San Jose to Airborne Arts, Monday morning February 5th at 8AM, and for the second retreat on Monday February 12th at 8AM. We suggest you book your flight a day prior and stay overnight so you can make it to the group shuttle transport. (hotel & meal expenses days prior to the retreat are at your own expense, as well as transportation to the shuttle site)
If for some reason, you can't make it for the provided group shuttle, you will be responsible for your own transportation to the site. You can find details here for other transportation options and rental car/ driving directions.
